Stroyline: When Rukia was on a mission one day, she came across some ninja's from the cloud village. she overheard their conversation on some private plan to attack a village. They spotted her and attacked. Being defensive, Rukia blocked the attack and killed one of their ninja. On the next mission, with Sakura, they were going through the woods when the Riakage himself found them to take revenge for his lost ninja. This led to a fight between Rukia and him, while sakura watched in fear on the side.
